Shamela MCP Terms of Use

By using the Shamela MCP service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Service

Shamela MCP is a public, read-only research service. It can discover books and authors, search the Shamela corpus, open original source pages, browse tables of contents, resolve printed page references, and mechanically check quotations.

2. Acceptable use

You may use the service for lawful research, reading, and citation. You must respect content owners' rights and applicable law. You must not bypass rate limits, disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service, distribute malware, harm others, send another person's private data without lawful grounds, or reconstruct the full index in a way that evades published limits or impairs availability.

3. Sources and quotations

Search previews are for discovery and are not citable evidence until the original source page is opened. You are responsible for checking text, context, and attribution. Mechanical quote matching does not prove attribution, meaning, or scholarly correctness.

4. Content rights

Rights in books, editions, and other materials remain with their respective holders as applicable. These terms do not grant rights to reuse content beyond permission from the rights holder or applicable law.

5. Disclaimers

The service is provided as available. Results may be incomplete, unavailable, or out of date, and the corpus may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, complete coverage, or conclusions produced by a host model. The service is a research and citation aid, not a substitute for qualified religious, legal, medical, or other professional advice.

6. Availability and changes

We may enforce limits, restrict abusive access, and change or discontinue features. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the date above.
